Dear Family and Friends

So much has happened since the last newsletter. I am excited to share some highlights of those activities. As well I hope all is well with each of you and I want to thank you for your patience.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Missions:

While visiting Puerto Vallarta again this year I helped the Worship In Paradise Church by leading worship for the months of January and February. My husband Jake helped Compassionet Impact with building a house for the poor and disfranchised. As well, the Christian Community Church asked me to lead worship and sing at Chris Boelter’s Seminar. We also taught English and Math at the Casa Hogar Orphanage with His Will His Way Ministries and did activities with the children there each week. We could see loneliness and desperation in their eyes, the longing for affection, and the need to have structure in their lives. Finally, we also visited the dump area where over 10,000 people live, to encourage those who are ministering to the specific needs of the people in this area. The families are extremely poor, with some living in shacks made from pieces of scrap and cardboard.

Ministry Opportunities in BC:

Last November I gave a concert at Connaught Heights Pentecostal Assembly in Richmond. Following the concert I had opportunity to speak to several people to encourage them along their faith journey. I also organized and led a women’s group from my own church in singing “Jesus, Messiah.” In December I gave a Christmas Concert to the Langley Gardens Retirement Home and provided special Christmas music at the Surrey Community Church. Jake and I helped at our own church with the distribution of Christmas Hampers to needy families. There I had opportunity to share with several women and to pray with two of them as they received Christ as their personal Savior. I have been able to stay in touch with one of these women. She is now attending church. Jake and I also helped a group prepare Christmas Dinner for the poor of Langley and I gave a mini-Christmas concert for them.

After returning from Mexico in March, I sang, shared my testimony, and spoke on “Trust”for the Women’s Revive Conference at New Life Christian Church in Abbotsford.

Future Ministry Schedule:

Would you like me to share my ministry at your church in 2009? I would appreciate hearing from you. Currently I still have openings for June and July. I am working on a Manitoba tour for August 9th-23rd. September is a great time for Kick- Off Events. An Alberta Tour is being planned for October 9th-28th, around my attendance at the CGMA in Calgary.
A Heart for Missions and Ministry:
As I continue to minister in various events my desire is to first seek God and His ways. One of my favorite verses is Philippians 4:6-7, which says “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayers and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Also, Ephesians 4: 1-7, says ”Live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle, be patient bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” I believe God is working out His purposes and plans for me through this ministry, and my hope is to touch people’s lives when and wherever there is an opportunity.
