Spring & Summer 2011

It’s amazing how quickly a couple of months can fly by. The spring and summer have been filled with activity. Our son, daughter in-law and grandsons moved to Summerland in June. Fortunately it’s only a few hours away! Jake and I spent a weekend there and it was fabulous! In July we went to Manitoba to visit our folks, family and friends. It’s alway great to see and spend time with them. When we returned home we got company, Dennis and Faye from His Will, His Way Ministries from Puerto Vallarta came for a visit and it was Faye’s first time in Canada. We had a great time showing them around Vancouver! Shortly there after a good friend moved away to Edmonton and now I’m off to Nashville! It will be interesting to see what God has instore! Back from Missions in P.V., Ministering in B.C.

For those who are keeping up with my blogs….Sorry it’s taken me so long to write. We got back from our mission work in Puerto Vallarta at the end of March. There were many mixed emotions as we left. It’s hard when you pour part of your life into others lives and then leave after 2 1/2 months. Yes, it may have been the most challenging experience of the 7 years we have been involved there with missions, but it was also very rewarding and a blessing to be doing the Lord’s work, and to know that we have impacted many people’s lives….kids and adults.
In April I was invited to speak and sing at a “Love In Any Language” Women’s Spring Tea at Sunshine Ridge Baptist Church. It was a wonderful and touching event for the women. Shortly after that Jake and I went to San Diego for a much needed rest.
At this point, we both are looking to God for what He has planned for us in this next season. Getting back I have had a lot of organizing to do, dealing with some health issues that have come up, working on my fall ministry schedule and hoping that God will open up new opportunities to serve!

Challenging Times

For a number of weeks Jake and I have both been challenged regarding our health. Jake got pneumonia and I have had laryngitis and bronchial issues that have been hard to shake. There’s a virus that we caught that has brought on these symptoms. Unfortunately as a result we weren’t able to be involved in our mission as we would have liked during days of illness. However, Jake has gotten better and I am also slowly recovering as it seems to be a little up and down. However, we are doing whatever we are able to do at the Orphanage, Agape home and with worship and music at Paradise Community Center. It’s such a blessing to be doing the Lord’s work here in Puerto Vallarta!

Christmas Celebrations

The Christmas preparations may have been busy but it’s been so special to enjoy time spent with family and friends, to give and receive gifts, to taste the delicious variety of Christmas dinners, to get involved with helping the poor and disfranchised…. showing love to those around us, and most of all to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas…Jesus!!

Retirement Home Entertainment

Friday this last week I sang at the Peninsula Retirement Home in Whiterock.
The folks had a great time listening to me sing and dancing to songs like “Mr. Sandman”,”Only You”, “My Special Angel” ….songs they grew up with as well as classical Christmas songs like “Winter Wonderland” and “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree, as well I lead them in a Christmas Sing-A-Long. They had a great time and so did I! I loved singing those oldies!!

Women Of Worth

Had a great time leading worship and doing an afternoon concert at the Women of Worth Conference in Abbotsford, August 28th. I thank my friends for coming out to encourage and support me. Not everyone who would have liked to come could, but their presence was felt. I know there were many prayers said and I sensed that. Thanks! The Lord blessed and encouraged my heart as well as the women who attended, it was a wonderful day! It was also such a blessing to have someone from Hillsongs working the sound!

Summer Update

It’s been a great summer here in B.C. and I hope that you have enjoyed your summer as well!

In August my husband and I flew to Manitoba. I enjoyed leading worship at a couple of churches in Winnipeg. and also did some of my own music. At one of the churches I had someone approach me after the service to let me know how blessed and touched they were and mentioned what an annointing they felt. I later learned that they were one of the prayer intercessors for another ministry who was interested in having me in B.C.. So on August 28th I will be leading worship and sharing my music and testimony at the Women of Wisdom Conference at the Sevenoaks Alliance Youth Centre in Abbotsford. I will be joining a couple of great speakers and we are believing together with the host ministry -Hishammer Ministries that God has something great instore for the women who come. Busy & Blessed!

It’s been a busy month of singing at a couple of private events, scheduling ministry opportunities for upcoming Sunday morning services, concerts, women’s ministry events and tours. It’s also been great to take time out with family and friends!

I have been blessed to have Mehrdad video a few of my songs which will all be on Youtube soon. Some live concert videos will also be posted this next week, so you’ll want to check that out!
This weekend (July 4th) I will be at the Chillawack Alliance Church for a mini-concert at their Sunday morning service.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Canada Day! Here in BC we didn’t have the best weather to enjoy it like we could have if the sun had been shining! But we had a great day anyway!

Leading Worship

Tomorrow, Sunday, May 23rd I will be leading worship and singing one of my songs as a special at Seaview Pentecostal Church in Whiterock. The evening service starts at 7:00 p.m. It will be a smaller group since it’s a long weekend but it’ll be a great. The speaker will be speaking on “Why Do We Believe”? Thank you for keeping me in your prayers.
