Exciting Happenings

Monday, April 16th, 2012

The last few months my husband Jake and I were in San Diego since he has had back issues but we are grateful that an MRI is slated for June and we are thankful for those who have been praying. During our stay in SD I flew to Nashville to record vocals for an upcoming CD, all went well and again we thank you for your prayers! We are now back in Canada and Creative Soul Records is in the process of recording BGV’s (Background Vocals) and mixing the album. Many of you are waiting in anticipation, as I am, for this release. Hang in there!!…there’s a lot work that goes into a great project, it’s very exciting!! I would appreciate it if you haven’t already done so to like my page . Thank you for your support!

Preparations for New Recording

Sunday, February 5th, 2012

September was the start of working toward a new recording project. In October I was writing songs with Eric Copeland of Creative Soul in Nashville who is also producing the CD. In the last couple of months we’ve been tracking the songs and I’ve been vocally preparing to go into the studio. A number of very talented musicians are playing on the project and I really like what I hear! In two weeks I will be flying to Nashvile to record the vocals, I’m pretty excited and will keep you in the loop! You’ll definitely want to keep posted! Just “Like” my Facebook Band Page and you’ll be sure to be added to all the news about the new release in the coming months! Thanks and hope things are going well for you! If not my friend let me know about it!

Merry Christmas!!

Wednesday, December 21st, 2011

I had the privilege to sing and share at two Christmas banquets this year, what a wonderful time it was! To speak into the hearts of single women who are struggling at this time of year and to encourage them with the hope that we can have through Jesus. Also what a blessing it was to sing at the Erskine Evangelical Free Churches banquet, even though I was not feeling well the people were touched in a special way. They responded by saying that they “saw” Jesus as I was singing, that nothing had been missed in the presence of a right spirit and the beautiful Christmas powerpoint. As a result I was so blessed and encouraged by that evening as well!

May your Christmas be filled with God’s presence and love as you celebrate all the amazing gifts that He has given to us. He is the most valuable gift you could ever receive. He is the love we search for, the understanding we all desperately need, and the forgiveness we are lost without.

Wishing you a blessed and Merry Christmas!!

Spring & Summer 2011

Sunday, July 31st, 2011

It’s amazing how quickly a couple of months can fly by. The spring and summer have been filled with activity. Our son, daughter in-law and grandsons moved to Summerland in June. Fortunately it’s only a few hours away! Jake and I spent a weekend there and it was fabulous! In July we went to Manitoba to visit our folks, family and friends. It’s alway great to see and spend time with them. When we returned home we got company, Dennis and Faye from His Will, His Way Ministries from Puerto Vallarta came for a visit and it was Faye’s first time in Canada. We had a great time showing them around Vancouver! Shortly there after a good friend moved away to Edmonton and now I’m off to Nashville! It will be interesting to see what God has instore! Enjoy your summer!

Back from Missions in P.V., Ministering in B.C.

Sunday, May 22nd, 2011

For those who are keeping up with my blogs….Sorry it’s taken me so long to write. We got back from our mission work in Puerto Vallarta at the end of March. There were many mixed emotions as we left. It’s hard when you pour part of your life into others lives and then leave after 2 1/2 months. Yes, it may have been the most challenging experience of the 7 years we have been involved there with missions, but it was also very rewarding and a blessing to be doing the Lord’s work, and to know that we have impacted many people’s lives….kids and adults.
In April I was invited to speak and sing at a “Love In Any Language” Women’s Spring Tea at Sunshine Ridge Baptist Church. It was a wonderful and touching event for the women. Shortly after that Jake and I went to San Diego for a much needed rest.
At this point, we both are looking to God for what He has planned for us in this next season. Getting back I have had a lot of organizing to do, dealing with some health issues that have come up, working on my fall ministry schedule and hoping that God will open up new opportunities to serve!
Keep us and Break-Thru Productions in your prayers and I’ll keep you posted!

Lots of Excitement!

Saturday, February 19th, 2011

This week we have had a lot of excitement with our son, daugher-in-law and all three grandson’s joining us in Puerto Vallarta! It’s great to have them here and they also think it’s great to see what Jake and I are involved with.  We had the opportunity to take all of them to the Casa Hogar Orphanage, where we teach English on Monday’s and Tuesday’s.  Thursday’s we sometimes go have fun on play day and they were able to experience that with us. His Will His Way Ministry organizes the process and we help them. We also went to the dump to see the ministry of New Beginnings. They are building a new Chapel building which is very exciting.  Jake has helped build some homes in that area in previous years and hopes to help again this year. You can’t leave either the Orphanage or Dump and not be impacted. I also saw a heart wrenching scene the other day when I saw a very poor man bent down on some cardboard he had collected and was crying loudly in front of where we are staying.  He looked like he was disabled or had a mental problem. My heart went out to him. I felt so helpless and tears filled my eyes to see how this man was struggling. Friday was a special day as we enjoyed celebrating our youngest grandson’s birthday! We celebrated Mexican style at the beach with a pinada…the kids had a lot of fun and we had a lot of laughs! Today I went to teach English and lead the kids in some singing  at the Agape Home. There were about 30 kids and 30 Adults it was a great day! We do try to make it fun and also teach the gospel. It’s interesting…..not only are the Mexican kids learning English but I in-turn am also learning Spanish! One of the challenges this week is that we are not getting hot water in the building we are renting but we are fortunate that we have a shower head that heats the water while taking a shower. The other challenge is that the elevator is not working either so that makes it difficult to do the laundry since the laundry room is on the 5th floor and we are on the PB1 floor. However the blessing is that we are getting much better Internet access to do the work we need to do from here. We appreciate your prayers and will keep you posted!

Christmas Events

Wednesday, November 10th, 2010

This week will be one of my busiest as I am preparing for a number of Christmas venues.  I’ll be speaking and singing at two local “Christmas in November” Women’s  Events at Grace Point Community Church on Monday and Tuesday, Nov.15 & 16th. Theme is “The Gift of Christmas” .  As well this month I am looking forward to encourage the elderly at two of the Retirement homes in the lower mainland with songs they may have grown up with and to bring in the Christmas spirit.
Currently I am also preparing to play with a band for the  Concert Dessert Fundraiser Nov. 20th. You can get more info on my website about that as well as on Facebook Events. Will keep you informed!

Banff Worship Retreat

Wednesday, November 10th, 2010

It’s been a busy month and I am finally getting around to posting on my blog again! I had an absolutely wonderful time speaking at River of Life’s Worship that was held in Banff, Oct. 29-31st’10. I spoke on the “Essence and Power of Praise and Worship”, “Effective Worship Leading”, “Dynamic Worship Teams” and “Engaging Community in Worship”. Sunday at the Service I led worship and sang one of my own songs. It was a powerful weekend and people’s heart’s were touched by God.  Everyone was encouraged including myself! I made some amazing Filipino friends who made me feel like family, it was such a blessing to have been part of this!! I look forward to more opportunities like this!!
